The End of Cinematics - Mikel Rouse

Can film still challenge us? Can a communal cinematic experience still change our lives, or have corporate agendas hijacked an industry that once aspired to art?
These are among the questions posed by The End Of Cinematics, the third in Mikel Rouse's trilogy of multimedia operas presented by Luminato this season.
Inspired by two essays by Susan Sontag - The Decay of Cinema (1996) and A Century of Cinema (1997) - The End Of Cinematics is a dreamlike meditation on the possibilities of film in an age attuned to the fragmented media experiences of channel-surfing, YouTube and MTV.

Slow Dancing - David Michalek

Enter a world where time stands still – or so it seems.
They appear to be still photographs: luminous shots of dancers in mid movement, projected on three outdoor screens, each several storeys high. Alone, the unexpectedness and monumental scale of these images would compel the eye. But keep looking, and suddenly you become aware of their breathtaking extra dimension. Hovering at the limits of human perception is the haunting beauty of a stillness that moves.

The group asks the question posed by many Performers in East Asia: is the body a projection space for social, economic and political processes which are written into every individual? Or is the body the last core of resistance of archaically anchored identity in a culture?

Choreographer William Forsythe's installation, City of Abstracts, turns the eye of a camera on the people of a city. As they move through its streets, onto its trains and as they pause on its sidewalks, their image is projected onto a giant screen. Their movements and pauses, velocities and directions, the straight and curved paths taken become a dance of spiraled, stretched bodies, of vanishing and re-appearing heads. Forsythe is interested in inviting passersby to offer movement, which will be fed back to them as a kind of unconscious choreography.

interattivi nella performance e nell'istallazione con ISADORA 1.2.9.
quest'anno dal lunedi' 16 al 20 giugno dalle 10 alle 18 a Paris 8.
Ma daro' anche un corso a Joinville (Stato di Santa Catarina nel Brasile
del sud est.a fine luglio) e in altri posti in giro per il mondo.
Per Neverland ti posso proporre diverse cose. Una coreografia di
un'ora e dieci minuti (Under-score che hi visto nel film) e
un'istallazione interattiva per un solo spettatore nel buio completo.
La presento il 6 giugno nel festival Bains Numériques che il teatro al
quale sono "artista associato" organizza. Dal 6 al 14 giugno al teatro
Centre des Arts e in tutta la città Enghien-les-bains a 10 min da
Parigi.

CyBorg Film Festival: la terza edizione

In arrivo la terza edizione internazionale del CyBorg Film Festival.
Dal 4 all’8 giugno dalle ore 21 la Sala Audiovisivi di Anghiari (ar) ospiterà il Festival diretto da Luisella Chiribini.
Con il patrocinio della Regione Toscana, Provincia di Arezzo Ass.to Politiche Giovanili, Comunità Valtiberina Toscana Ass.to all Cultura e Comune di Anghiari Ass.to Politiche Giovanili Beni e Att.Cutlurali il concorso di cortometraggi ospiterà 80 opere provenienti da tutto il mondo e in tutti gli idiomi.
La Giuria sarà composta da Enzo Aronica regista e ideatore di n[ever]land percorsi al digitale, Corrado Rizzo visual effects senior di Proxima e da Francesco Cortonesi sceneggiatore e co-fondatore della Filmhorror. Le sezioni in competizione sono la fantascienza e l’animazione.
Per il miglior cortometraggio di fantascienza il premio è offerto da Arco Multimedia Group e per l’animazione da Proxima, il miglior soggetto di ogni sezione si aggiudicherà i premi offerti da “IL GRANDE CINEMA” di S.CIAMPELLI.
Il CyBorg è onorato di poter ospitare Francesco Mai, artista digitale che esporrà le sue “alien sculputers” sia presso la Sala Audiovisivi che presso il CyBorg cafè y book in via Garibaldi.
