Some Kind Of Nature // Canon t2i , 550d

This clip was created as part of an art project.
It focused on a “field” to the concept of nature.
We went to twice on tour.
Once the Furlbachtaal, another time to the development area of the highway. Now it was the projects for further discussion to consider the concept. I made up my mind for a possible connection between the two places to look for and so came to this idea.

Sorry, that’s a bit of a stretch title, we were just having a bit of fun with this movie… it isn’t the real Wall-e, but a toy version of the famous robot from the movie used to tell a story. It was first shown on this thread on the planet5D forums and we thought it was pretty cute. The author, Victor Novikov, included quite a bit of description on vimeo, and we thought it was something you’d be interested in. There are also a bunch of behind the scenes (BTS) stills included in the vimeo page – or you can go to his making of flickr set.

Second Behind The Scenes from “The Last 3 Minutes”

Shane Hurlbut has posted the second of three behind the scenes movies from their making of the short “The Last 3 Minutes”… This episode was from the “Vietnam sequence” from the movie that we were able to premiere here on planet5D a few weeks ago. (You can view the movie on planet5D Cinema of course). This second behind the scenes has a special bonus as well – a full explanation of the filming of the helicopter scene from the last Terminator movie where Shane was the Director of Photography.

The Bayerische Theaterakademie (Bavarian Theatre Academy) is offering an Isadora Workshop for both beginners and intermediate and advanced users from April 20-26, 2010 in Munich, Germany.
Beginners Course: April 20-23, taught by Katrin Jedon (taught in German)
Intermediate & Advanced Course: April 24.-26., taught by Mark Coniglio ( taught in English)
Please bring you own Laptop/computer with the Demo-version ( Mac/PC ) installed.
Although the workshop was mainly conceived for theatre-technicians and the students of the Theaterakademie, they have decided to open it up to the public for the remaining places. A contribution of 350 Euros for the 7 days (or 200 Euros for just the first or the second part) will be expected in form of a donation to the Bayerische Theaterakademie, payable in cash on the first day. A tax-deductible donation receipt will be given.

“The Last 3 Minutes” Brilliant new Shane Hurlbut 5D Mark II short

Shane said this about the film:

“When the rumors about the 24p update for the Canon 5D were swirling, I was perfectly happy with my cocktail that I had perfected on the Navy SEAL film; 30p and then Twixtor to frame blend. Then, commercial production companies and the ad agencies started to inquire about needing 24p because they could not deal with the rendering time of all the Twixtor files, the 7D started to rise as the premium capture. That is when the aha moment happened for me. I wondered, why is everyone asking for second best when the Canon 5D is king? At that point, I knew I had to be a proponent of the 24p upgrade and to shoot something with it that would bring people back into focus about the camera that started it all.

So Lydia Hurlbut negotiated with Canon to sponsor a visual short produced by Hurlbut Visuals and Bandito Brothers Productions that showcased the 24p firmware update in the 5D to remind everyone of the power of this amazing tool. A tool that can inspire out of the box thinking. I wanted to feature the Canon glass to show what I had learned over the last 13 months shooting one feature, 12 commercials, and 20 short films with this platform.”
