we live on a mountain
right at the top
there's a beautiful view
from the top of the mountain
every morning i walk towards the edge
and throw little things off
like:
car-parts, bottles and cutlery
or whatever i find lying around

it's become a habit
a way
to start the day

i go through this
before you wake up
so i can feel happier
to be safe up here with you

it's real early morning
no-one is awake
i'm back at my cliff
still throwing things off
i listen to the sounds they make
on their way down
i follow with my eyes 'til they crash
imagine what my body would sound like
slamming against those rocks

and when it lands
will my eyes
be closed or open?

i'll go through all this
before you wake up
so i can feel happier
to be safe up here with you

Telenoika Audiovisual Mapping @ Ingravid Festival, Figueres 9/2009 [FULL] from Telenoika on Vimeo.

some months behind the scenes preparing this show with the Telenoika crew. It's a facade audiovisual mapping made for the Ingravid Festival in Figueres, Girona. From Playmodes we developped the video-warper-player which just played a 20 minutes video on the facade. Also some of the 2D and 3D moments of this show were created by us with compositing and 3D rendering software. The video-warper-player was made in Openframeworks.cc 0.05. We're cleaning the code and we'll put it online soon, as well as a report of the process we followed to create this audiovisual performance. Enjoy !l

Rebus

We presented our show Reflexus with Jordi Teixdor as dancer/performer, Jordi adapted the speech to french and that was the first challenge, to remake our show fro a french audience. The most exciting part was to make a session of our show for a young audience from a local school, with kids arround 12 years old. We presented a bit our project, then played the show and we finished with some questions from the young audience. To end the session we invited the childs to try and play with the interactive scenario from Reflexus and we loved that experience of letting kids play with our "toys"...

^ Last video is from the Random effect. On this case, the dancer moves and sings and what we see on screen is a Random re-interpretation of the sampled audiovisual piece. The random is picked up from the 7 seconds buffer and it is quantized to music, so each random jump to a new position is done in sync with the music tempo.

^ Here you can see some tests we made with the 'time displacement' or 'slit-scan' effect. The effect was invented by the brilliant filmmaker Zbignew Rybczynski in an experimental film called The Fourth Dimension in 1988.We tested with an implementation done by Jesús Gollonet in SummerLab in Laboral, Gijon, july 2008. We were exploring it's properties for introducing it into 'vample' show.

^ This video shows some of the test we made with this effect. In this case the coordination of movements in time and space of the dancer creates a sequence of dialogues which appear when each copy is added to the last ones. The final result is an auto-coreographic composition tool in time lapses.

Descripción del evento | Descrição do evento

---------------------------------------------------
With Ernesto Gadelha and Alexandre Molina after invitation of FUNARTE I conceived and organized "Outras danças": a dance festival between france and Brazil that questions the globalization of aesthetics in contemporary dance. There will be a small dance festival a critic's confrontation over the pieces shown, a symposium, french and brazilian crossed residencies and proceedings of the symposium published in french and portuguese.

Travelling often between France and other countries we have witnessed a sort of contamination of french codes. And the question was: isn't that diminishing the differencies? Levy-Strauss always sais that difference are the basis of identity construction. So, are we losing differences? Are we going towards a monochrome world, a monochrome dance? Are the international institutions that help artist to travel creating consciously or unconsciously a "dominant aesthetics"? Is there a way to avoid this? We hope that the festival, the symposium, the residencies and the critic's confrontation will be a good way to discuss and exchange ideas on those topics.

Hope you can go.

Torino Share Festival 2009: Market Forces

Andy Cameron ( direttore FABRICA)
Bruce Sterling
(giornalista e scrittore amico storico dello Share)
Emma Quinn
(curatrice new media art, Londra)
Giovanni Ferrero
(presidente Accademia Albertina)
Rosina Gomez-Baez
(direttrice Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, Gijon)
